Hot rolled steel is a material used a lot in the construction and mechanical industries. So what is hot rolled steel, what is the production process like? Find out in our article below about this steel!

What is hot rolled steel?

What is hot rolled steel? This is a thin steel and has a characteristic color of blue-black. The surface of hot-rolled steel is usually quite rough, with a thickness of 3 to 100 cups, made by thinly rolling billet in a temperature above 1000 degrees Celsius. Hot-rolled steel is a product that is easy to maintain and has durability. high, good resistance, not affected by weather and external environment.

Production process of hot rolled steel products

After having a better understanding of what hot rolled steel is, we would like to introduce you to the production process of a standard hot rolled steel product. The process will include the following four stages:

– Stage 1: Ore processing The raw materials for processing input ores including Pellet ore pellets, Iron ore iron ore, sintering ore, coke, limestone are put into the kiln. If the input material is scrap, it will be heated at a certain high temperature to make the molten metal stream.

– Stage 2: Creating a stream of molten steel to separate impurities
The molten metal stream from stage 1 will be led to the basic furnace or electric arc furnace for processing. Here, impurities and chemical components present in the molten stream will be separated. This is the decisive stage to create a good quality hot rolled steel product or not.
– Stage 3: Casting supplies
After the molten metal flow is completed, stage 2 will be taken to the feed casting stage. After the billet is fed into hot rolled steel, it will be maintained at a high temperature. When out of the billet forming process, it will be put directly into the product rolling process.
– Stage 4: Roll the product and seal it for completion
